Feed Your Focus
Starve your distractions, feed your focus.
It is so easy sometimes for distractions to get the best of us. Speaking for myself, distractions and procrastination is one of the ways I self-sabotage. I know this of myself and now do my best to catch myself before or as its happening to nip it in the butt.
Sometimes I’ll find anything else to do but the one most important thing on my list. In those moments I’ve learned to ask myself - what am I avoiding?
And boom! The edge comes off once I acknowledge it.
Sometimes this can appear in the simplest ways, like reaching for water or fidgeting with my clothes in a yoga class, and then I realize I need to breath and re-focus. (Or avoiding to post my recent work after allowing myself to get derailed, or avoiding to bare the depths of my soul - cough cough - refocus lol).

The reality is your focus and will power is being challenged in moments like this and learning to move through those blocks to re-focus is where the gold is.
Sometimes it appears in the form of a feeling with a restless need to find itself externalized on a paper where it finds a new home, just like this little poem and watercolor did on a plane back from Charlotte, NC.
You just gotta be willing to look at your blocks straight in the eye.
What are you avoiding? Be honest & learn from yourself.
