There’s something special about creating from nothing and seeing it take shape. it gives you more trust and faith for the feelings evoked and the process itself.
Create the things you wish Existed
My name is Katherine Vazquez-Aldana and my passion is integrating art and yoga as tools of creative and self exploration in aiming for my fullest expression of self.
I approach art as an exploration of my soul’s landscape. Treating colors as emotions moving through my spiritual body onto the white space of a canvas. Every piece has a different journey and sense of expression as I transmute it to life.
I discovered the wonder of painting as a 7 year old on a muggy summer day in my grandparents coral rock home in Little Havana, FL. My grandmother showed me the power of paint, its ability to transform, mask, reconstruct, and alter.
I witnessed the power of alchemy at a young age and did not know it.
I became enamored with color, texture, and the meditative state of creating. Just as the colors themselves, painting is a tool for me to not only express myself, but a tool to channel my feelings and state of being; a way to expand intuitively in combination with the integration of yoga. These tools have become the gateway to my stillness, and a key in my process of self discovery, allowing me to flow through emotional traumas, limiting beliefs, energetic blocks, and anxiety to find healing.
Often times so much lays unseen beneath the surface that we forget the key is to feel our way through it. My hope is to share my journey and knowledge to encourage others to explore their creativity and other forms of expression that can be a gateway to a more present, playful, and joyous life.
“I create to transmute a feeling with the language of color and form that only your soul understands”
